At the Georgian, we’re a family-run business that’s built on trust, expertise, and relationships. My mom is our gemologist, I’m a jeweller, and together we take great care in helping our clients understand and get the most value from their fine jewellery.
As our shop continues to grow, we want to make sure we’re able to give each client and each piece the time and attention it deserves. To do that fairly, we’ve introduced a few simple guidelines for evaluations.
Complimentary Evaluation — Up to 3 Pieces
We’re happy to offer a complimentary evaluation for up to three pieces of jewellery. This gives you a chance to meet us, experience our process, and get an idea of current market values — no pressure, no obligation.
Larger Collections — 4 to 15 Pieces
If you have a larger collection, we charge a small evaluation fee to cover the extra time involved in carefully reviewing each item.

Evaluation Fee: $50–$150 (depending on the size and complexity of the collection)

Fee Credit: If you decide to consign or sell your jewellery with us, we’ll credit the full fee toward your consignment.

If you choose not to consign, the fee simply covers our time, research, and expertise.
We want this process to feel fair and transparent — you’re never paying twice for the same service.
Large Collections — 15+ Pieces
For collections of 15 or more pieces, evaluations are done by appointment and the jewellery will need to be left with us for proper assessment.
We’ll provide:

A detailed intake form and itemized receipt for every piece left in our care

A turnaround time of 3–5 business days, depending on the size of the collection

The same fee and credit structure as above
This allows us to give each item the care and focus it deserves.
Why We Charge an Evaluation Fee
Our evaluations involve much more than a quick look. Each piece is inspected by a certified gemologist, researched for market value, and assessed for authenticity, condition, and desirability. This work takes time and expertise — and we want to ensure every client receives an accurate, thoughtful evaluation.
