Antique brass compact with floral design
Compact cases became especially fashionable during the 1920s and 1930s, when changing cosmetics trends led women to carry pressed powder, lipstick, and small mirrors as part of everyday dress. Decorative compacts were often crafted in brass, silver, or enamel and designed to reflect the elegance of the Art Deco period, when personal accessories became increasingly stylish and portable. Today, antique compacts remain appreciated for both their functionality and their connection to vintage fashion and social history.
