Antique 10k yellow gold turquoise and pearl pendant, early 1900s
Turquoise and pearl jewellery became especially popular during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, valued for both colour and symbolism. Pearls were traditionally associated with purity and sentiment, while turquoise was believed to offer protection and good fortune. These combinations frequently appeared in delicate gold pendants and brooches of the early 1900s, reflecting the era’s preference for refined, feminine design.
This antique pendant, crafted in 10k yellow gold and suspended from a modern 14k yellow gold cable link chain, features the soft contrast of turquoise and seed pearls characteristic of turn-of-the-century jewellery. The delicate arrangement and smaller scale reflect the light, elegant styling that defined much of Edwardian-era adornment, while preserving the craftsmanship and materials associated with early 20th century gold jewellery.
Navette shape, floral design, bloom finish set with a 3 mm pearl and seed pearls and turquoise. The pendant measures 1.5 x 3 mm. and weighs 1.7 grams.
